Yusen Terminals Reinforces Commitment to Safer Ports at the Maritime Hacking Village

Recently, Yusen Terminals took part in the DEFCON 33 Maritime Hacking Village, which highlights cybersecurity risks in maritime and port operations.

Representing YTI, Mark McHargue provided technical support for maritime systems simulations, helped design hacking challenges, and connected with key industry and federal stakeholders.

Mark worked closely with the U.S. Coast Guard and DHS to explore new cybersecurity initiatives and gain a deeper understanding of emerging vulnerabilities in maritime infrastructure and IoT. Through these efforts, YTI not only strengthened its presence in the cybersecurity community but also supported strategic port security goals and fostered meaningful knowledge exchange with both government and industry leaders.

By participating in this event, Yusen Terminals continues to reinforce its commitment to advancing maritime cybersecurity and contributing to safer, more resilient port and shipping operations worldwide.
