Yusen Terminals: Providing Best-in-Class Marine Terminal Services in the Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles is the busiest port in the United States, and it requires state-of-the-art terminal services that can handle the high volume of cargo in an efficient manner. That’s where YTI comes in. Since 1991, YTI has been providing cutting-edge marine terminal services at Berths 212-218 to several global shipping lines and transportation companies. Our offerings encompass stevedoring, terminal operations, and out-of-gauge cargo handling, all aimed at delivering utmost satisfaction and performance to our valued customers.

YTI is a comprehensive marine terminal that prides itself on modern technology, top-notch equipment, on-dock rail, storage facilities, and Alternative Maritime Power (AMP®). Our highly experienced management team prioritizes efficient cargo handling, unwavering service delivery, and positive customer experience. We firmly believe in providing a “Best-in-Class” service at all times, and it shows in everything we do.

At YTI, we ensure that cargo is handled efficiently and safely. We currently operate ten Post Panamax Gantry cranes, including six state-of-the-art Super Post Panamax Gantry cranes, which enable us to accommodate container ships with a capacity of up to 14,000 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit). With our on-dock rail and extensive storage facilities, we can manage a high volume of cargo with ease and speed.

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) was founded October 1, 1885 with a fleet of 58 steamships

1988

NYK Line Inc (North America) established

1991

Yusen Terminals LLC established at berths 212-216

1994

Centennial Stevedoring Services (CSS) and Yusen Terminals LLC (joint venture with SSA)

1995

Yusen Terminals LLC expanded and added berths 217-224

1998

TICTF established (first train service)

2004

CSS and Yusen Terminals LLC joint venture dissolved

2008

Ceres Terminals Inc ceases managing Yusen Terminals LLC

2015

NYK Ports established (Ceres and Yusen Terminals LLC)

2017

Record container moves in the history of Yusen Terminals LLC – 782,539!

2019

YTI is an independent organization under the NYK Ports umbrella

2020-2022

YTI serviced 99 extra loader vessels resulting from the volume surge during the global pandemic

YTI had a record-volume year

YTI majority ownership transition to ONE
